We are a group of friends who have come together because we share the common bond of caring for someone who has Trisomy 21. We are here to share therapy tips, medical issues, laughs, accomplishments and yes, even frustrations. We embrace what Trisomy 21 has brought into our lives. We feel that it has taught us to appreciate the true meaning of life. We count our children as blessings! We will fiercely protect them and fight for their lives to be valued just as all other peoples' are. We share our pictures, our stories and our hearts here not only to provide friendship and support for each other, but also in the hopes that others will open their minds and their hearts to our unique children and, in turn, make a better world for everyone.

We recently found out our son, Owen has Moyamoya. Owen(OE) had a stroke three weeks ago. We were flown to the Children's Hospital in Denver for tests. He will have to get an Angiogram then they will schedule his surgery. Has this happened to anyone else?

I can see if I can find them. They were in our school district and I lost touch, but let me see what I can do. Best wishes,

I appreciate it. I'm very nervous about his upcoming surgery.

We are awaiting an MRI to find out if Brant might have this ...

October 6 2007, 1:09 AM

So far they are thinking not but because of his right side weakness the specialists believe he may have had a stroke at some point. That or he might have hemihypertrophy which is a disorder that causes one side of the body to grow more quickly than the other. So sorry to hear that Owen had a stroke. How is he doing now?

Owen is great!! He has surgery in May 2007 to help supply blood flow to his brain at Denver Children's Hospital. He has a follow up MRI/MRA in May 2008. He has to take aspirin as a blood thinner.

How's Brant?
