The Crazy Never Die. Released back in the late 80's. It runs 31 minutes and feauters Dr. Thompson on his lecture tour among other footage. This was not a bootleg, but now is being sold by swine on Ebay. Seek out a real copy.

BOOTLEG

February 25 2006, 6:07 PM

I shut down most of the bootleg copy guys and girls on EBAY by reporting them to the IFCC and by telling them that I now know where the live....
A $500,000 fine plus 6 months in jail is a great reason for them to NOT sell my movie! Mitchell Brothers Film Group and Cinema 7 Inc. / Mitchell Brothers 21st Century Film Group FILMS ~not sold directly from the Mitchell Brothers are ILLEGAL copies. End of story....Including ALL THE WEB SITES everyone SINGLE ONE!!! THAT STILL TODAY SELL MY FATHERS FILMS ILLEGALLY! Don't worry I think it is about time to make them all pay~
The NIGHT MANAGER FUNDS WILL BE USED to HUNT Illegal Internet Sales on EBAY and ACROSS THE WORLD! **** YOU ALL for ripping me and the Family who helped pass the Copyright law in the first place due to illegal Behind the Green Door Sales?!!!

<p>YES! ALL THESE people are dirty bastards for selling these films Illegaly and should be treated like rats.

The front of the box reads...
Hunter S. Thompson's The Crazy Never Die
"Exclusive footage of America's most brazen, weird and unconvntional Gonzo journalist!
The front cover has a great RS drawing of Hunter as a skeleton holding up a half full bottle of Wild Turkey. Hunter also has four legs.

The back of the box reads...

Iran/Contra Affair -
"...a story bigger than watergate..."

GEORGE BUSH -
"I suspect he was the most guilty of all of them..."

RONALD REAGAN -
"...Ronald Reagan has endorsed the Book of Revelations as a kind of sketchy guideline for the 80's."

POLITICIANS & LAWYERS -
"Almost all Politicians and all lawyers should be castrated so that their genes will not be passed along..."

JOHN McFARLAINE -
"A man who ate 30 valiums and thought it would kill him...Hell, Jim Morrison ate 30 valiums for breakfast..."

OLIVER NORTH -
"...that bastard had about as much fun as anybody in goverment..."

RICHARD NIXON -
"...his family hated and adhorred him..."

The back cover has the list of topics (printed above) and picture of Hunter shooting a pistol.

COPYRIGHT 1988, MITCHELLL BROTHERS FILM GROUP GROUP
RUNNING TIME 31 MINUTES.

THIS FILM IS UNRATED CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE.

Folk music is the score The film starts out with Hunter reading a news paper in the back of a white limo. The next scene is Hunter being introduced by an MC. The lecture is in a church! Hunter walks out with a bottle of whisky and a bucket of ice. Hunter begins his lecture. He is often interrupted by members of the audience either asking him questions or shouting out comments. The lecture audio stops. The next scene is at the San Francisco Examiner office. Hunter's editor informs him that they are an hour and fifteen minutes away from deadline. Hunter is more interested in showing the editor a pistol! After Hunter puts the pistol away. Hunter proceeds to fool around with a mono jam box. The editor is very stressed out. Hunter ultimately sits down at a desk. Hunter continues to talk with his road manager about a game of golf. In the background you can hear the editor mumbling with Hunter's assistant. Hunter types a couple of words then gets up to find an ashtray. The editor hands him a plastic cup. The film cuts back to Hunter's lecture in a church. As the lecture audio continues the video shows clips of Hunter on the golf course, golfing, drinking booze and driving the gold cart. The lecture audio continues, but now Hunter is at the Survival Research Labratory in San Francisco. Hunter is destroying various items, shooting a hand gun, firing a flame thrower and watching two naked girls kiss. The film goes back to the San Francisco Examiner. Hunter hands the editor his article and the clock on the wall shows that Hunter made the deadline by fifteen minutes. At this time the folk music is playing again...Hunter is back in the limo shaving and reading a news paper. As the lecture continues Hunter is now in a large theater. The audio lecture continues as the film cuts to Hunter eating in a Mexican resturant. Hunter is smacking the camera with a hand towl. The film cuts back to the church where his lecture started and comes to an end. Hunter finishes his lecture with some great words!

The box gives a list of topics that Hunter discuses but there is a lot topics than the seven listed.

This is a great film! I know it is very hard to find. I found my copy back 1995 at record store for $15.00 or so.. A friend of mine found a copy on Ebay three or four years ago. He paid $100.00 or more. The description said it was not a bootleg. When he got his copy it was a bootleg. A very bad copy so say the least. He was pissed and could nothing about it!

If your gonna buy HST stuff Ebay now, please make sure that you know what you are doing. Since Hunter's death Ebay has had a lot of HST listing's. Most of the HST stuff is not official. Hunter's family does not get any money from these dirty bootlegers!

One last thing...If you are searching for 1st edition HST books. Keep this in mind. Who bought Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas back in 1971? Do think that the reader took care of these books while reading them, rolling grass on page 112 - leaving green stains on the page. Chopping lines of cho on the dust cover etc...Or just some twisted reader leaving the book in hot attic for 20 years. Ebay capitolist do not care about you! They will docotor up photos or use a picture of a mint edition book and mail you a third rate 1st edition. As long as they get $1,000.00 for a book that they spent $50.00 on would be worth negative feedback! Spend your're money with caution because a lot of people who could care less about HST fans will swindle you for you're hard earned money.

I'm tired...

I would have no idea what Hunter was doing or watching. I guess it may have been "Breakfast With Hunter"?

Fear and Loathing on the road to Hollywood is available on the Criterion edition of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This DVD is packed full of cool HST stuff.

All the best,

So, to clarify, this dvd is just a bootleg compilation of video already out on Hunter and that, even though it is in the DVD format, much of the quality is low grade b-rate footage not worthy of the +$20 dollars it would cost to have these greedy hustlers send me, the dumb chump, a copy. Or should i bite the bullet in a fatalistic burst of frivolous curiousity?

Re :yr ebay warning

February 1 2006, 4:35 PM

A good warning well made about the ebay stuff.Wasn't it HST himself who thought/ asked Jann Wenner about his having purchased the unsold / remaindered copies of F&LLV to resell at premium collectors prices later on? Something Wenner strenuously denied in print.
Has anyone ever known any or all of these to come onto the market:or not?
I dont want one,I have one,just curious,is all.
