I've seen a lot of photos of Hood in winter- quite beautiful. Two things stick out in my mind about it- higher avalanche danger, and much more likelihood of uber-poor weather. A friend and I attempted Hood back in early June 2004, and we failed about 1/4 way up the hogsback because of poor snow conditions and low visibility.
Apparently it was a very cold period for that time of year, but it was cold enough and unstable enough to screw up our shot.
Are you planning on going solo at this point?
