Just found this site, thought I would join and meet other texans interested in hiking. I am from Houston and have 3 trips planned for the mountains in the upcoming months. Guadalupe mountains in Oct, Big Bend(chisos) Dec and Davis and Guadalupes in Feb.
I've been to Guadalupe before and enjoy climbing the Colorado 14ers in the summer( so far I've done 7 of them, should have been 8, but I had to turn around 400ft from the summit of Blanca Peak due to the weather). I also enjoy mountain biking when I can.
Just trying to find other like minded Texans.
