1969 Sooy 17'hydroplane E-1. aka: "Silver streak" I was told ran a 273ci chrysler engine. The guy I bought it from said he found it sitting in a field as he was driving thru West Virginia. She now resides in Cincinnati, Ohio where the proud new owner plans a complete restoration. Any info. on the history of this hull would be appreciated. I tried to post a photo but unfortunately my poor computer skills would not allow that to happen. I will say that the boat looks identical to another famous Sooy hull named ----"Vagabond". I did attend 3 vintage events this summer: Celina, Madison, and hung out on the docks w/ Kevin Klosterman at Rocky Fork. Just wanted to say that I had a great time , everyone in the vintage pits was very friendly. and although I have lots of work to do first. I do look forward to being a participant rather than a spectator sometime in the near future w/ this awesome old boat. Steve

Score! How does the boat look?.. and what does it need?? Be sure to get the pictures posted as the boat will have a history as soon as this group gets to lay their eyes on it. "Every vintage race boat has a good story to tell" I guess we are just the messengers who put 'em on the water.
Welcome to the vintage cult. We are all looking forward to yours and all the other new boats joining the fleet on 2006. Geez, if we all get busy, there are a BUNCH of new boats hitting the water next year. I am heading Celina on Friday to do a final sand the bottom of the E-333 and make a list of what we need on the sponson repair on the F-333. If all goes well, the "E" Jones will make it to the water in the spring too. Once again welcome aboard, Kevin Klosterman
