Miss Danash (1981 staudacher) is for sale.Yeap, the first GP boat James Kropfeld drove.

This historic boat comes with engine, trailor and tons of spare parts. She looks in "good" conditions (photos) and would make a great addition to the Vintage fleet.
If you need informations or photos, you can contact me(since the present owners doesn`t have internet nor speak any english.)

Danash II?

February 10 2006, 7:09 AM

Hi Ben,

I may be mistaken, but I think the boat Jim Kropfeld drove was the first Danash, which was destroyed when Jean Theoret's brother died. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

One way or the other, it would be an excellent addition to the fleet.

a little Danash story

February 10 2006, 9:43 AM

Bonjour Jim,
You`re right. The boat that is for sale is the Danash II.The first one was destroyed in a deadly accident.
The year after the accident,Gerald Theoret (Jean`s father) decided to order another boat from Staudacher. He ordered the same boat and called her Miss Danash II.She had the same paint scheme with a yellow lines here and there it.
He also changed the number from GP-855 to GP-929.
Over the years, the Theoret changed a couple of thing on the boat. When Alain Blanchet bought it,he had to put a reinforced cockpit for safety rules.
Besides the cockpit/cowling,the boat kept its main shapes.

Pierre Theoret,

Yeap,It was Pierre Theoret in St-Gabriel de Brandon 82 or 83.
Pierre was Jean Theoret`s brother anf Robert Theoret nephew. It was a sad day,Pierre was a rookie driver and a fast driver. After his accident, the GP Ass decided to put on a rules that you had to get experience in Smaller classes and get some restriction before being able to run in the GP.
