Peter; Are you related to Bob Hackett? A real gentleman I may add. I have a Schroeder 266, F-23. I have a picture of the exact boat & trailer taken from about 7' in the air and the writing on the deck near the cockpit in my picture says
"Schroeder-Crosley", the picture was given to me by Gene Fleming. Inasmuch as the name cannot be read in the picture, I guess we have a mystery.

August 7 2006, 2:01 PM

Re: Big Question

August 7 2006, 2:42 PM

If I knew that I would know what boat it was?! I can't make it out. I know Henry didn't build to many T or Y boats. Dick Delsener might know? Could this be the original "Lip Ship"? Or is it even a Lauterbach?

Someone should just call the guy and get the scoop! With a little more info on the boat someone on this site would probably buy it. More so than the boat trader where it is now.

Lauterbach? For Sale- CHEAP

August 8 2006, 2:58 PM

Chris,

Judging by the sides, sponsons and angle of the steering wheel I am fairly sure this is not a Lauterbach. I would guess a Lloyd or home built. It does not look familiar to me.

If it was in the GNW..............

August 8 2006, 5:50 PM

If it was in the Great Northwest I would be all over it no matter who built it! Is that stupid of me? Just getting started, Lon

y boat

August 8 2006, 6:38 PM

If we called the owner then we'd miss out on all this speculation.

In looking closely at the picture it looks like the crosley is mounted crosswise, or like a front wheel drive car. If it had been at a race such as St Pete I'm sure someone would have noticed and remebered it. Strange enough that you wouldn't forget.

Some possibilities.....

August 9 2006, 8:31 AM

Hey Bill Morrison,

Here are some possibilities for this boat:

The Reiss' old "Sure Bet"?
Rick Albrecht's old "Miss T"?

What do you think?

Mike, it looks like the colors of Reiss's Sure Bet but didn't that boat get made into a picklefork and became T-59 Scraps. What about the old Teenta Too/Jersey Lightning was a blide hull I think or The longs old Littlest Lou or T-88 The Hastler????

definitely not Lauterbach

August 10 2006, 7:50 AM

After talking with Butch Kropfeld and Mike "Lippy" Lipshutz over the weekend, I can tell you that this boat is definitely not one of the Lip Ship boats and is definitely not a Lauterbach.

If I can help....

August 13 2006, 11:01 PM

...being that I live in Miami, where the boat is located. I`m willing to go see the boat and provide any info feed back that I can. I do have a digital camera, and you can reach me on my cell @ 954-658-6935. Also, and a much, much, much, better resource if available, Skip Gillam I believe still lives in the Miami area.
