Chris, I spoke yesterday with the king, Butch, relative to many issues...He spoke of the "Special Edition" as the "aircraft ship of the fleet" as it was so big....
Guess that's why it never went over...
The boat must have some great aerodynamics, as I am understanding only Prevost upped the record.

The Boat was build by Big Joe him self / Joe Suskie from NY down around the Dunkirk area Joe was big in outboards then got into Imboards, never ran up front but he was there every weekend.

Brent is correct. This 280 , Big Joe, was designed and built by Dunkirk, NY native Joe Suski. Joe was honored with a distinguished service award at the Buffalo Launch Club Vintage event a few years back. He lived into his 90's and was designing and building a seven liter at the time of his death. That hull was offered on eBay by his brother. Paul Reid worked on Joe's boats for many years and could share some more light on the Suski hulls.
thanks for the info on the boat everyone! John, we don't fish the Big Rock anymore. Too early and too much emphasis on killing one fish. We'd much rather release 20 white marlin a day!
