Hello , I'm presently looking for a used or new low profile oil pan, a set of zoomie pipes, aluminum engine mounts and a small 5 gallon Moon or Moon Eyes style aluminum fuel tank for a Plymouth 273 powered hydroplane. I know that most of these parts are still available and can be fabricated new, but someone may have these items sitting in their shop or garage waiting for a new owner. Plese email me at primarycare7@aol.com
Ask Fred about Armando's off line. I don't think there is a lot of good to be said. They were as slow as any of them, the quality was OK but it was not built correctly and had to go back at least once.
I bought mine from C-Line Engineering in Indiana. The customer service was great.
Something to think about.

News to me. I have talked to a few people that swear by Armando's. I make my own pans for the most part so first hand I don't know......

Still having difficulty locating the chain coupling setup ...
September 12 2007, 2:42 PM
I'm looking for the chain coupling setup that attaches to the crankshaft for a 273 Plymouth...I guess you would call it the drive sprocket hub? Its for a 1 inch shaft. Does anyone have a setup for sale or know of where I can get one. Thanks again for all of the responses. Jerry

George Kennedy could make you one, I would go with the "Greek Coupler" style to get rid of the chain. Geprge's E Mail is:

just bought one for my 273

I just bought one from Glenwood marine for 169.00. They machined it to fit the crank of the 273 and mated to a 1" shaft with a 1/4 key. He turned it around in a week. jason
I ordered one for my SBC (really SBC since it's a V-6...LOL_ from Rex Marine. It was $160. They might be able to do the same thing for you. I worked with Bryan there. He was super. It made of Moly and s/b strong enough.
I can give you two possible sources here in Louisiana. Doug Beynon is in Lafayette, LA. (1-337-258-1581). The other is Bob Meir at St. Helena Truck and Machine just north of Baton Rouge (1-225-664-2669). Call them and see if either of them can help you.
