I'm building an 11 foot hydro (48 cu.in. class)The plan calls for a 8 1/2 x 12 1/2 2 blade prop.3/4 taper. It may not be exactly what I need but I have to start somewhere. If you have something close to this please let me know. Also what horse power did these 48 cu.in. motors have?, I want to find a motor with similar power.
I HAVE 2 48 HYDROS AND MANY CROSLEY ENGINES BOTH STOCK 44'S AND 48'8 HP WAS ALL DPENDING WHAT YOU DID TO THE MOTOR THE SIZE WHEEL THAT THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SEEMS A LITTLE BIG FOR THAT SIZE BOAT MOST 48'S WERE BY RULE 12FT 6IN.
I'M LOCATED IN VA AROUND WASHINGTON . NO PROBLEM WITH THE PARTS YOU NEED GEORGE

Contact me at moonpie247@earthlink.net I can give you a lot of info.
Thanks for the info. I checked my plans and it has a total lengh of 11 feet. I bough the plans from Clark Craft. Right now, all I have is a set of plans and the material to build it. This boat will not be used for competition other than racing for bragging rights. I'm planning on using a 670cc two stroke snowmobile motor that has about 120hp at 8000rpm and weighs about 75lbs. I'm trying to find a main strut, shaft log, shaft and rudder. Is a 3/4 shaft a good size considering prop size and availability. I'm having a hard time finding props.
Thanks again for any info you can give me, I have many boats but this will be my first homebuilt hydro.
