Well kinda no oil filter !!!!!!!! No machined area in the engine block for attachment of bolted on can with filter element on a 1955, however that can on top of the engine is indeed a filter canister with replaceable element and appears to be a genuine AC Delco accessory item !!! For some other makes and models there was available an aftermarket deal that held a roll of toilet paper as an element !!! And yes the bolt on can with replaceable element was standard on 1956 and newer as memory servs me !!

You know what i meant!!!! Actually that is not a "rule" per se as I once ended up with a 283 that I thought was a 265 because it had no oil filter provision on the block. A rare bird indeed......

I quote Greg, "You know what I meant!"
Say What?
My wife uses that argument when she mis-states some fact or argument.
I never expect you to use it Greg. I'm disappointed.
