I was sitting there while 4-5 officers watch while another officer tasered me
for 3 months the police told me it never happen it never happen
even though I went to the doctors to show her the taser mark and there was a taser mark!!
months later the police finally confessed they tasered me but now their stories have changed why I was tasered....
I have come to realise when your native the police believe your word is not good enough

I think we all need to be careful when voicing a concern. By saying "YOU WHITE PEOPLE" or "YOU NATIVES", you're referring to a whole group of people. What about the people who are half-native and half-white? which group would they belong to?
and by saying that white people don't have it half as bad as natives do is completly false and underestimated. I agree 110% that the natives had a long history of abuse and they are in fact treated poorly by the Canadian government, but by concluding that you have it worse than someone else is wrong. You, in fact, have no idea what someone may have went through in life and it may have been worse than your life experiences. So I do not believe you are in the position to rule out that you or your people have it worse than others.

All of these hateful, immature, messages are really getting annoying. As a white person, I am offended by both of the insults given by the white people and the native people. We do not need to judge each other based on our skin. EVERYONE has different views, and just because 1 white person is insulting natives, does not mean that those are the thoughts of all white people. In fact, the majority of us are in support of the protest.
So please, do not be stereotypical, and think that because one ignorant, uneducated white person left hateful messages on here, that we all share the same opinons.

I'm sorry you felt that my last msg was stereotyping, but I was saying that police will act the same way to any situation. Also I am educated, with a graduate degree (you told me I was uneducated, but I am probably more educated then you'll ever be) But anyways, I have many native friends, but I don't think setting up a roadblock is the way to go, its an escalation and I was merely signally my frustration as the protest affects me daily. As for my msg about war, I was responding to early msg that a man signalled he wanted war to wage a war over the land, which nobody wants. I don't want guns going off and hurting my kids.

I just want to remind people that you have less of a chance of a Native person pulling out their gun and killing people ESPECIALLY with children around than you do having a plane crash into your car on a dirt road. I was shocked to hear so many people fear of their childrens safety going to school. The Native people put women and children first and would never put children in harms way. This is a peaceful protest and so far so good I think, It appears to have started working.

As a Citizen of Canada, I wonder what the residents of Six Nations hope to get out of protesting over a tract of land thats been out of there possession for over a hundred years. And I am sick of hearing all this bull**** about War coming with the white folks, what kinda **** is that about. The OPP came in to get you off that land because you didn't leave, if it were white ppl doing the same thing, they would do the exact same thing. If you wanna stay on the land fine, but get off the road. Your just going to inflame the situation to a point where it won't benefit you any longer. If you never leave and a settlement is never made, the police will move in again, and you will be evicted, like it or not. All I ask is that the roadblock come down, go back to continue your protest on the land. Blocking the road only projects a negative image of the native people to Canadians. If you don't care about that, all the best to you, but sometime in the future when a situation like this arises again, Canadians and those elected into power might not stand for it, and you will get a war, and not one that goes in your favour.

The ignorance of some people amazes me. They have no respect or regard of history. Little in the way of cultural tolerance, and demonstrate a total lack of human courtesy.
Jewish people still seek justice for crimes from WW2. Very few would dare say they don't deserve compensation. Catholic adults seek retribution from abuse suffered at the hands of the clergy when they were children. People see quite clearly the need for that. Japanese Canadians have sought recognition for racial profiling which occurred during WW2, but fairness for our First Nations! Well I guess some think that is another story. What is the difference of this injustice? Does it become any less of an injury with each passing decade? Agreements were not honoured. People were taken advantage of. The government of that day and this day have done little to truly solve the issue. Another travesty, the residential school abuse settlements were supposed to be resolved years ago. Our bureaucracy will make sure that compensation will be tied up for decades and will not likely ever reach the hands entitled to it. We have a disgusting government that continues to victimize people. A road block in Caledonia is not nearly what Canada deserves. The United Nations was right to give us a slap up side the head for how we have dealt with aboriginal issues. What our government should have gotten was a giant enema, maybe we could have gotten rid of some of that extra crap in Ottawa.

My father was mixed-blood. His family lived near the Grand River near the lake, on the land that was taken away from the Reserve at the same time the government took the Grand River Navigation Company from The People because it was making too much money and competing with businesses owned by "white people". My father's family had to buy their own land back from the government.
There is a LONG history here that too many young people are not aware of.
The Land belongs to no one but is given to us to use for a time. Unfortunately, the government keeps changing it's mind about who gets to use what piece of land. The government should restore the ENTIRE Grand River land grant "6 miles each side of the Grand River to the north shore of Lake Erie", as it was in the beginning.

The native people are protesting against not just the theft of lands given to us by the queen in return for the help we gave her in fighting the americans, but also for the injustice shown to us by the judicial system by just filibustering about the land claims. When a white man has a land claim isssue its taken care of immediately. Take for example the people who owned the land in caledonia. Theor issue has already been taken care of. The native people are still waiting to be heard after how many years? If anyone acted like a terrorist its the mother in caledonia who said her kids were afraid. I am looking George William Doolittle Jr. or any of his relatives from the Six Nations Area/Hamilton area. George was in Hamilton in the late 1940's ('46, '47, '48, '49 approx.).
George has brothers James (Jim), Kenneth (deceased) and sisters named Beulah (was married boxer Jackie Callura), Constance Havers, Marlene Rogers and Ernest I do not have much more information on the immediate family. George had an aunt Mrs. Mary Johnston of Hagersville, Uncle Jack Doolittle of Hamilton, Fred Doolittle of Niagara Falls N.Y. George was working for the moving company "Hill The Mover" at that time and was dating Marjory Fattore (she had 3 children: Francis, Joni and Jimmy) at that time. On March 2, 1949 George's son was born in a Hamilton hospital. Marjory's sister Doris was present at the birth, the son was named Frederick (I don't believe that George was aware that he was going to be a father). Fred was given up for adoption at birth, was placed with a Foster Family in Hamilton and was then adopted by a couple from Windsor, Ontario in 1950. There are relatives living in the Hamilton area also, there are quite a few people in the Hamilton area that are aware of George but have no information as to his or his brothers and sisters whereabouts at this time. My husband Fred is the adopted son, we found out about George in September 2000 and have been actively searching for him since that time. We are looking for George to find out if there are any living relatives (brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews etc) and also for medical purposes. I know that I have not given much information but that is all that I have. If anyone has any type of information I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I will follow up on all leads of information that are given to me. Does anyone know if it would be advantageous to go the Six Nations Reserve in person and check files there. I do not have his date of birth, therefore I do not know if he is still alive, but I am sure that there must be grandchildren, nieces, nephews etc. that should still be in the area.

Marjory at one time went by the last name of Spafford. I'm pretty certain that George's last name was Spafford he passed away several years ago. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Actually Eric you make me sick. Gas is way too high and it pollutes way too much, as everything Canadians produce. Taxes, fines, food and everything else are way too high. than white people that do not know their facts yet open their mouths. I am white, born in Canada, on Six Nations Land, the land within 6 Miles of the Grand!!! And thank you Native People for allowing me to live on your land while my Government takes all of the property tax money you deserve.
Facts:
Native people pay tax. They pay Income Tax, CPP, EI, GST, and anyone who does not live on the reserve also pays Property Tax. They do not pay PST which is 8% on the price of goods purchased to the Ontario Provincial Goverment and that is all! Property taxes on the reserve are not needed since the white people do not pick up their garbage nor maintain their sewer and water.
There is a treaty area which Native people do not need a license to hunt or fish, this is on the reserve and some surrounding areas and major bodies of water. Outside of this area, i.e. cottage country they must but a license like everyone else including a moose tag. The younger people also help feed elders who can no longer do this on their own and share with their families.
Native people must obey "white" laws when off the reserve and most of them on the reserve. They have their own police but RCMP also have jurisdiction on the reserve, Natives can go to jail and do pay files just like anyone else.
Much of Six Nations land can never be proven to have been sold in the local history archives. Some land was a long term lease to people, times changed which didnt allow for the original 999 year lease to be easilly given back and acknowledged.
So not only learn some facts have the decency to write without insults and threats.
I support the Native People and their rights! I dont want to see all of the land developed and ruined. I at least know I can survive with only a wood stove, wild game and canning to eat and no hydro because I have.

Educate yourself about the history involved in this before you open your idiotic hate filled mouth. Firstly, you embarass yourself by speaking like that, and secondly people like you make it impossible for any progress to be made. Being white I really hope things dont escalate to the point that eric would like to see. I have FAMILY and FRIENDS in Six Nations and I support the action taken in Caledonia.
eric had one thing right - it started when the Colonial powers arrived here - put up their flags and suddenly ownership was instantaneously transfered from the people already living there.
I have just a few things to ask/say...
Isnt it the law that states you have to prove you paid for something in order to prove ownership?
The fact that Native peoples were here first isnt in dispute - so therefore the burden of proof should fall onto the government to prove they owned the land in order to sell/give it away to european settlers.
If i sell something that isnt mine to sell is that a legal transaction?
Can i sell or give away my neighbours home?
Regarding, The Brant Treaty - It clearly states that 6 miles from either side of the grand river and ( if i remember correctly ) that tract of land would run from beginning to end of the river - one heck of a huge peice of land. From what I understand Joseph Brant leased sections of this land for a set period of time. Upon which no payments were made, and no one left at the termination of the lease.
Can the powers that be provide proof of ANY payment on this lease? and even then prove the lease was extended indefintely or " surrendered " as they put it.
I think the spirit of the Caledonia agreement was to allow a road to be built. NOT to give up any rights to that land ( AND the surrounding land around the road ) This country is filled with this same story of land being legally wrangled out of Native hands. I will speak for myself in saying that I would have no problem living within the borders stated in the original treaty and paying taxes to this new Six Nations, not to the government of Canada.
I think ive gone on long enough - but in closing, id like to put forth a scenario to eric and see what he says....
eric - you are the owner of a 100 acre farm - one day the government knocks on your door to inform you that your land has been seized - your property now consists of 1 acre surrounding your house - you dont get a say or a cent from the rest of the land you used to live on.
Question is - How would you feel about that? And what could you do about it?

Have you looked up at the sky lately. Look up. Notice the formation of the clouds. Notice something alien to scientific formation of clouds. It is a long cloud that doesnt belong. It looks like an emission from a jet but its not the normal contrail that jets leave when they pass by. This is an emission that doesnt dissapate like normal contrails. What is it. These trails are being left by airplanes but they dont just go away they stay in the air and form murky looking clouds in the sky. Our skies are constantly being bombarded by these trails. Someone on the internet says they are chemtrails being sprayed on us by the U.S military and is causing all the respiratory illnesses such as asthma and allergies. If our ancestors looked today at the number of 'apples' we allow to make the Nation decisions, they would disown us. Today, most skins seem to think the answer is to be friends with the governments who now rule our peoples and territories.COWARDS! TRAITORS! If the people in charge of our Nations today feel they want peace...its time to check their bloodline. They MUST be half-cracker. The ONLY way our people are ever going to regain their pride or ANY land is the same way we lost it...WAR! The ancestors werent cowards, that is how I know the bloodlines are thinning.There is a way to win it this time...it is to unify all the Native Nations. TRY getting along long enough to send these American Infildels on their own trail of tears! The sooner we evict these tenants from our land, the sooner Turtle Island will become beautiful again.

no reason for your baby to see his mama pie-eyed.
Remember that all hurt and most have cried
and all have loved ones who have died
but for our futures sake, put that **** aside
cuz for us to be strong, your love you must provide.
Now for my peers,
see how we've been left outside
see how these devils have ****ed us and lied.
I say **** that, it's time for tha youth to decide
aren't you tired of being the one who has to abide?
aren't you sick of being the white man bride?
Forced into shadows, not permitted at his side.

I know of which you speak. I was born in Buffalo, N.Y. to a father who was a band member of Six Nations and Canadian born. My mother is white and American. I carry a U.S. passport because I found it impossible to get a straight answer on citizenship inquiries. I have been told conflicting info from both my band office and Canadian government officials.
My parents had to register me as a landed immigrant when we moved to Canada in 1973 even though my birth had been registered in person at the band office by them not one month after my birth.
I have been told that my status card is as good as a passport. Then I was told it wasn't. I was then informed that I would have to go through the citizenship court to get a passport. There doesn't seem to be anyone who can give the straight goods on this issue.
(Hey, anyone out there is knows the true skinny on this issue? Justine and I and countless others are waiting with bated breath and tickets to Cuba, wondering and hoping.)

Am unclear-first poster, do you have your status card? If not, contact DIA/INAC. They should have a record of your birth and band.
Status used to mean no border, but bush likes pushing people around.(bullies are like that) 'they' say we will all need passports. Even ironworkers have been told to get them!

Easiest way, you don't need to prove anything.
You have already been stamped, blued and tattooed. All you need is your status card!
Go to local tribe, talk to leaders to get what you need. If government still causes problems then do positive action protest with whole tribe in tow till they give you what you want.

David Charles “Tona” Mason, 55, passed away Oct. 9, 2005 at the home of a friend in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Born Mar. 3, 1950 in Ohsweken, Six Nations of the Grand
River Reserve, Ontario, he was the son of the late James Ernest Mason, O. M. C. and Cora Jean (Davis) King. He received a BA in Native Studies at Laurentian University in 1979 and graduated in 1995 from the Faculty of Social Sciences at McMaster University. He was a counselor for Native people and had been an advisor in CASNP. He was a
published poet and was an extra in some CBC productions. He was a co-founder of Native Sons an organization that helps Native inmates. He was a former member of the
Ganienkeh Mohawk community. He is survived by a daughter Ha-Zin-Ak and son Guy Mason, both of British Columbia, a son Alfred Christopher Carty in Palmer Twp.,
Pennsylvania and a son “Temawi” David Frederick James Mason in Ontario. Brothers James Ernest Mason Jr. and Malcolm Henry Norris of Toronto, Ontario, sister Corrine
Jeanne Mason of Bancroft, Ontario and brother Kahn-tah-wi-wim'tchi-git Andrew William Mason of Vancouver, British Columbia. Also, two half brothers Robert and Maurice King. One grandson, in British Columbia. He was preceded in death by a sister Wilhelmina Heide Mason Davis in 1961.

Hi- 2 of my grandchildren are half-Delaware, from the Moravian reserve near Thamesville, Ontario. Their father is, I'm told, 100 % Delaware. Can their history/genealogy be tracked? I am wondering if they could be part of the group that followed Tecumseh acroos the border after Gnaddenhutten, and settled around Fairfield.
Any help would be appreciated.

I met Dakota Brant in Dieppe New Brunswick. He was running a Native Craft Gallery called "Voices of Today". He disappeared in June/05, I'm very concerned for his wellbeing...can you help? Thanks
