Caught the top of the outgoing on Sat morning. Vis about 10'. Hit the elbow on the back east side. Marked lots of bass and hit a 40" on the second drift. Buddy who is new to the sport did 2 drifts and couldn't get a good shot off. Went in again and got another @ 30". Thought it was bigger and a little mad that I didn't hold off. Hit the rocks on the back east side and shot two nice triggers. Went over to the back west side of the inlet. Saw a lot of nice bass but we had enough. Drifted with the outgoing along the west jetty. Current wasn't bad near the rocks and there is a ton of life there. First time going in that area. Missed a very large fluke. He took off before I realized what it was. Saw plenty off short fluke and black fish. A couple of very nice blacks as well. Shot a fluke that turned out to be a 20" flounder. Honest mistake. I guess that's what you would call a snow shoe. All evidence of the flounder dissapeared at dinner last night. Shot a couple of more trigger's and called it a day when my calve cramped up. In short it was the nicest day of spearing i have had this year. I highley reccomend the west jetty on the top of the outgoing for any freediver. Not to deep, current not to bad even when it's ripping in the inlet, and a ton of life
