I use an Olympus with a housing and I paid only $109 dollars for it.
Olympus sells all of its clearance and damaged box stuff through an Ebay store. I found a housing for a discontinued camera that was only about 1-2 years old but very well rated. I picked up the housing for $9.
3 weeks later I got a good deal on the camera which is a 6 megapixel camera for $100 dollars on ebay.
I did not want to spend a lot of money because I wanted to still dive and not worry about $1000 dollars worth of equipment flooding or breaking.
What i would up with is a very nice setup that takes great pictures and short videos (no sound) and I can take on a 200" dive.
