I agree with Matt. I always try to engage the fishermen and be as informative as I can. Have only had good experiences with the surf guys. Matt, I don't have a log on for noreast.com but maybe you could do a public service announcment informing the boaters of the rules and regs and kindly asking them to give us some room as there propellers are deadly. I am sure this guy being a charter capatian and all reads the reports. As hard as it is dealing with some of these idiots, you have to keep a cool head. It can be hard. Rob, what is the name of the boat? How great would it have been had the coasties cruised by while this ass was within 10' of your flag. He needs to be educated because there are more and more guys diving every day. Dove Montauk's southside twice last week. Great structure but the heavy rollers made it interesting and I actually got sea sick one day. Many fish but I passed on them hoping for "the big one". Never saw him. Dove Moriches tuesday and Wednesday evening. Didn't see anything over 30". Heavy surf certainly increased the boat traffic in the back of the inlet.
