I took the family out to the west jetty yesterday. I was hoping to dive a bit as well as have fun on the beach. I was a bit surpised that access to trucks was now open and I saw plenty of trucks on the east jetty as well. I guess the Plovers have fledged. Apparently access just opened this weekend.
Unfortunately i could not dive the inlet. I had thought I would catch the bottom of the low tide but the water never stopped moving and it was one of the swiftest currents I have ever seen.
Next time I am headed to the east jetty. I think I will take a day off next week and really enjoy it.
The vis on the ocean side was unbelievable. Very clear. The kids and I had a blast playing in the small waves.
I did try to free dive the beach side of the west jetty but it was really mixed up with lots of sand blowing around. I couldn't see well enough to use the long gun I brought and the jet skis were making me really nervous
