The backgrounds in those pics look very familiar. My old stomping grounds.
I think I see knife on the deck but make sure as hell you are wearing one or two on the spots you are diving. There is a ton of fish line on any north shore structure.
Also if you are going that deep into the murk on the north shore in the port jeff smithtown bay area think about a float. It solves a lot of problems when the fish get snagged up in stuff.
I would not recommend the Biller gun. They are great guns but they have a rather shitty locking mechanism that seems to need a bit of jiggering each time you load it.
I am a bit more partial to the JBLs in that price range. the 38 special northwest is a great northshore gun and can handle three of the heaviest bands you can find. They also can take a massive beating. I have taken may fish with this kind of gun. The only thing I recommend is to throw away the line the second you get the gun and replace it with monofiliment, nylon or a monofiliment coil.
You also might want to try a pneumatic if you take care of your equipment. They are reasonably priced and will have the power you need in a shorter gun.
