Woman, son among 3 killed in Valley

SRINAGAR, Jan 30: Three persons including a woman and her son were killed in different militancy related incidents across Kashmir during the last 24 hours.
Police said during the intervening night militants barged into the house of Ghulam Hassan Bhat at Khee-Jogpora in Anantnag district and fired indiscriminately at the inmates. In the incident he suffered injures while as his wife Hanifa died on the spot. Injured Bhat was later shifted to hospital where his condition is stated to be critical. Militants kidnapped his son Tanveer Ahmad and later hanged him to death in the nearby field, police added.
In another incident, militants fired at Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a contractor at Talibal Dangerpora here causing him serious wounds. he was immediately shifted to hospital where he succumbed. Bhat's father, who was a National Conference worker, was killed by the militants in 1998 in similar manner, police said.
Security forces recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunitions from different hideouts raided during the last 24 hours across Kashmir valley, police added.
