I haven't posted here in a long time, but I know that this is both Diether and Kristine's site so I'm able to post freely regarding the two both as a tandem and as individual. So props for that.
Well, I have to admit, I am a fan of Iisa Pa Lamang. I believe, it's a great teleserye, a new spin to an old story. It's a bit refreshing if that makes any sense because it seen somewhat of an oxymoron considering what I just previously wrote. But bare with me.
For those of you who do watch it, is it me or is Katherine (Claudine Barretto) becoming somewhat of a whore. I mean, I like her character, but does she have to get with all the guys in the show. Not just that, does every guy in that show have to like her? I mean, come on, I know she's the main character but enough.
However, I do like Claudine though, I think she's a magnificent actress and she's very smart with roles she picks. She always somehow picks all good roles, it's a bit strange. I mean, I know some people don't like her in this place because somehow they pin her against Kristine, but is it possible to like them both. I don't know. I like them both.
Also, I'm not sure what the hype is surround Gabby Concepcion in this teleserye. I mean, I know it's his comeback show, but he's not even in the series all that much. I don't think he's even the leading man, he's somewhat of a third wheel. I don't know, it's hard to accept the age difference between him and Claudine, I don't know how plausible it is for them to be together in this show. I just can't get passed it.
I was actually reading in the other thread how people don't like the tandem of Claudine and Diether. I, on the contrary, think it's actually pretty good. I think they make such a cute on-screen couple. Haha. She's married so all of diettiners can relax, breath of air people, breath of air.
But in all seriousness, they just bring something out of each other when they act that can only derive from two people who share trust and history together. I think it's lovely that their best friends, it's sweet. That kind of things don't really happen a lot these days that a man and a woman can stay just friends without any malicious intent. I think that's why I love this tandem, it's purely professional. It's a breath of fresh air that there's nothing else surrounding it, it's cool.
But going back to the issue at hand, I LOVE Miguel and Katherine. I think that the love-story is them, they are the star-cross lovers in this teleserye. The love-triangle between Katherine, Miguel, and Scarlet is the most intriguing storyline in the show, I think more interesting than the Miguel, Katherine, Raphael triangle. I've been reading some of what people are saying regarding the character of Raphael saying he's such a good guy and such a saint in this show. All the typical adjective that comes along with the good guy character. But, I think that's just a disguise. In reality as I watch the show more, he's somewhat a little weasel. I mean, he knows both side of what happened between Miguel and Katherine, yet he won't say anything. He won't shine a single light on it. He play dumb, what kind of a person does that?!? Plus, you don't get with you're friend's ex. Honestly, that is just wrong! So much for being a good guy, he's a snake!
I love Scarlett (Angelica) in this show. I think Angelica is doing such a great job with the character. She's the antagonist of Katherine, but she's really not typical villain/bad guy. She gives heart to the character that at times you somewhat root for her to win against the main character, haha. Yeah, I admit it, pag-minsan gusto ko ma isahan nya si Katherine. Haha
I mean, you know when the bad guys do what they do, you sometimes ask why they do it and you just can't figure out an answer outside the typical answer which is "because they're bad and that's what they do". Well, with Scarlet, you know why she does what she does. You see where she's coming from and you somehow forgive her for it at the end of the day. And I think that's very hard to do with someone who opposes the main character. It's hard to give rival a heart, but Angelica somehow found a way to do that with Scarlet and that's why I LOVE SCARLET in this show. I sometimes almost want her to end up with Miguel. I guess either way, Miguel is a winner, unless he ends up not being with anyone, haha.
But let me tell you, Diether is HOT! Haha, he's so cute.
Well besides that, I think (sorry people, you might not want to hear this) Diether is very inconsistent with his acting in this teleserye. I think maybe, he's just getting started, I don't know. But, at times you see the potential he has to becoming a truly great actors. In scenes, he really owns the character and he's really good. But at times, he completely fails. It's very up and down his performance here. But, I guess he's still trying to get to know the character. I don't know. But, he does have such a beautiful character in this show. I think, his character, out of all of them, is the most believable character. I wish at one point, they make Miguel feed up with his circumstance and make him just leave and live in the bondocks with his shirt off. Haha. But that's just me. But honestly, I sometimes want to hit Miguel, he treats his wife so rude, even though I know she deserves it. However, she is trying. I think he adds his own problems at times. But, he's character is so real, Diether can do so much with. We'll see what happens.
I guess that's it. For those who don't watch it, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! I think, people tend to watch shows with their bias already set, but you tend to miss out of things that way. Because as much as I like Diether and Kristine, I think it's enjoyable to see them doing other projects outside of each other. And it's very exciting to see them grow as individuals and not be boxed in with each other. Because I think when you're with someone for so long, as much as you're good to each other, you're bordering in hindering each other for growing. So, it's good to get out and try something new. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But it doesn't hurt to try. Well, that's just my two cents. But honest, watch Iisa Pa Lamang, it is really such a great show. If not, just watch it for Angelica Panganiban, she does steal some of the spotlight. I mean, I wasn't a fan before, but she does do a good job in this show.
