I have a very big question for everyone who has had any kind of vaginal surgery,if you could kindly help me I will appreciate it more than you know.
I really want to have labiaplasty, but in the business that I work in so many people try to find out about your private business and so on that it's really the only thing kind of holding me back, I'd be deeply embarrased if someone knew I had this kind of surgery, when I go through with it I'll be doing it completely by myself, I don't want anyone to know. my questions are how are the doctors when it comes to being confidential about this sort of thing, I know they have to inform the insurance and everything else but I don't want anyone to know plus my insurance it's still under my parents and I don't want them to know either, it's there a way to let the doctor know that you don't want absolutely anybody to know?? do you think the doctor and her/his staff will actually respect your wishes?? also I will be driving home myself and taking care of everything myself after the surgery, can anyone give me an input of usually what you have to do after the surgery so I have an idea. THANK YOU SO MUCH. any help is welcome.
I don't know anything about surgery or the privacy issue- I'm sorry. But I am responding to tell you I think you should consider not doing it. Have you spent very much time on this site looking at pictures or reading what men have to say about vuva's?
If you are young, it could very well be that your opinion of yourself will change over time and you will have had experiences that cause you to feel much better about your vulva.
What is it that you don't like about your vulva?
I did read once that some women who have had vaginoplasty regretted it because they lost some sensation and sensitivity. The edges of your inner labia are the most sensative part of your labia. (of course you have your clit and other areas but it gets less sensitive as you go inside. )
Again, I don't know what the reason is for your wanting the surgery but I will offer the following:
I , like many many women, have large inner labia. I call them my butterfly wings :) They hang down below my outer labia. WHen I read that article about vaginaoplasy several years ago while getting my hair cut, I had never heard of such a thing. Yet within 15 minutes, I was feeling very insecure about my labia!! I hadn't considered it a problem before nor had I thought of my vulva as ugly. I have had many many boyfriends and plenty of sex and only one ever commented on my inner labia.
ANd certainly, absolutely, as time has gone on, I have become more and more accepting of any little part of my body that I might have had insecurities about.
We certainly aren't required to have plastic surgery and vaginoplasty- its not a natural part of human exisitence- so my thought is that its important to NOT GIVE UP ON OURSELVES and our ability to rise up to meet our potential to love ourselves and our bodies- as opposed to giving in to our insecurities and the unnatural pressures placed on us by trends in society.
Have you given yourself and your body a chance to be loved and accepted?
Mindy-- I'm glad you responded. I've been feeling so selfconcious, even disgusted, with my, as you so nicely put it, "butterfly wings". I honestly didn't know other women were like me with very large inner lips. I feel more normal now and prettier even. I just wanted you to know that. Thank you!
I know exactly what "butterfly wings" are, and I assure you it's not something any normal man is the slightest bit turned off by or considers "different".
Guys with experience know that every woman is unique down there, and that's exactly what makes a woman sensual and appealing.
I love to suck butterfly wings up into my mouth as an erotic part of foreplay.
Some guys call them "tease curtains" because they are hiding the treasure behind them.
The wings also give extra protection to the vagina if you get hurt there accidentally.
Please don't cut them off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is true that wherever the surgery scalpel goes, there may be loss of sensitiviy and you might regret it later.
The cut tissue could also scar and leave a lumpy feel.
If you were my girlfriend I would be upset if you pruned your labia flaps. Maybe upset enough to ditch you and chase another girl with butterfly wings.
Hi, I have just had this operation to reduce my inner labia. I have had two traumatic childbirths and had completely ripped my inner labia in half. So not only did I have two large, long and ugly inner labia but I had four! Surprisingly, I went to the doctor to have my vaginal walls inspected as I thought I had symptons of a vaginal prolapse which in fact I did.
I saw a specialist who did an examination of my whole area and I needed surgery to repair the walls and he offered to fix my labia at the same time. I didn't really care about the look of them as much as I did the uncomfortable feeling I got during sex. At the doctors surgery they were very discreet and only had one patient in the reception area at once so privacy was exceptional!
I am 2 weeks post surgery and feeling great, minimal discomfort from the operation and I have no visible signs that I have had it done and no scarring. I am surprised at how pain free the two procedures have been. My biggest issue is I have severe thrush from the anti-biotics I had at the same time from a bladder infection.
I am sure the doctors/specialists will respect your privacy and you could always get them to sign an agreement of privacy anyway.
I totally agree with Mindy and all the other posters but don't listen to DooDoo, You have not ripped your labia I take it?
Surgery is for people who need it medically.
If there is nothing wrong with you, keep yourself that way. Don't be a sheep and follow what you read and see in the media. Also get the opinion of an independant doctor who is not in it for the cash. (Have a look for Medical forums on the net in the UK not in the US as you people are surgery Daft.
I had labiaplasty done myself. I had to have my parents drive me home and im pretty sure they wont allow you to drive yourself. Alot of insurance doesnt cover labiaplasty. I paid all in all about 4 thousand but it was totally worth it. Im more then sure if you just talk with a surgoen and schedual a consultaion with them they'll answer all your questions. Labiaplasty isnt somthing to be imbarrased about at all.
