Not that I truly beleive there are any coverups but the thing that strikes me would be there MAY be some reasons to do just that. I think this subject has been discussed before but since we all seem to have a lack of subjects to chat about, here goes nothing.

Logging companies would lose out because they would be smacked around with more restrictions to land use. A protected habitat would really hurt everyone. More higher prices for lumber due to the lack of area the logger's could get to. Economically unsound to let the truth be known????
The sudden change in everyone's interpretation of man's origin would come under fire. Evolutionist's and creationist's would be going nut's trying to prove their point's and their "I told you so's". That could really stir up some heat most of all. Just draw a line in the dirt and pick a side to stand on.
For myself, I don't beleive there are any coverup's but there are "reason's" to have one beleive there are. You can just add this subject to the ever growing list of conspiracy theories.
The way I see it is that when the public can't come up with any answer's on their own, their number one defence is to make up a reason why the truth is being held from them. When in reality they are just looking for a reason to make themselves look like the victim's.
But that's just my opinion.
