If you were in the city (your home environment), and you heard someone yell your name and you look up toward the sound and realize the following things:
#1 - You don't recognize the voice.
#2 - You don't know who called your name.
#3 - Something doesn't seem "right".
Would you answer? Probably not. BF is going to duck and cover in this situation just like most of us would.
As far as different vocalizations go, I bet the tone and range of your voice varies greatly from mine and even more so if you are a woman. Perhaps there may be differences in language region to region too. The Germans, French, English, and Italians are all relatively close neighbors who speak different languages - why should a California BF speak the same as one from Oregon?
