I am a little new here but I would like to express something of a quandry for anthropologists.
Does the Yeti, bigfoot, yowie, Omaha, the enemy, Oh-mo-ha, skunk ape, Murphreesboro Monster, Chicken Man, and ect exists.
Some anthropologists do believe that it exists because of the underlying legends and lores surrounding this creature for thousands of years in many cultures around the world. Some fear it and some think it may be a spirit of some sort.
But the underlying question asked by those who study the footprints examine hair samples and spores suggests it may be the long extinct Gigantopithecus from Asia.
I believe it is because of the migritory land bridge and when the creature did live.
Some people may argue within the anthropology community that it solely lived on bambo and went extinct due to its sole dependence on it.
What if it was its southern cousins who went the way of the mammoth and the northern cousins went to NA via the Bering Landbridge.
Then why is it fear by native americans in some parts of North America and treated with high respect given to a spirit?
I believe that bigfoots are tribal based on what I have read and heard from witnesses. In michigan their are two types but the northern ones are family units no more than two adults and young whereas the southern ones are mor tribal maybe fifteen to twenty adults.
Why is the North American bfs different from that of Asia, European (which went extinct by the thirteenth century), and Indo-Australian?
Just like man they adapted. Maybe its this reason why they are so elusive in many parts of NA.
Just my thoughts......
