For me, it remains a solid "undecided".

Could be a hoax, could be an escaped orang-utan, could be a Skunk ape.

To he best of my knowledge, the person who allegedly took the photos refuses to come forward, even though they have been guaranteed anonymity. The person could easily send the negatives to Loren (or any number of other people) anonymously. Then the negatives and photos could be examined by a lab and certified as not having been altered in any way. Without the negatives to examine, the photos are just interesting photos.

I have always considered it very odd that the anonymous letter writer implores the police to "do something" about the animal because 'she' feels it is a danger to herself and her "grandchildren", but she never mentions just where it is the police can find her! I have to say that if I felt unsafe in my home or yard because something dangerous (animal OR human!) was roaming the area, the FIRST thing I'd tell the cops would be my ADDRESS! Think about it for awhile. If you were asking the police for help wouldn't you let them know where to find you?
