I just read an interesting article on Bobbie Short's Website where an Indian agent was relating some of the stories that the native peoples had told him about there experiences with Sasquatch's. It happened back in the 30's and if there is any truth to the stories and I don't see why there isn't, than I doubt that Sasquatch is an ape, but a type of ancient human species. The natives tell of there many encounters with the Sasquatch's and of speaking to them in a Indian dialect known as the Douglas dialect. Also, nowhere in the story do the native people refer to them as apes, but as human people. I would say that the natives know this creature better than we will ever know them and if they say that they can talk and that they consider them human than that is what they are as far as I am concerned. They are not apes, not Gigantopithicus, but some form of primitive human that has survived until present. That is the native opinion and it is one that I tend to agree with.
