Time for my ranting again but which is more humane -- trying to tranquilize an animal that we are really not sure how much it weighs or what it's metabolism is like and therefore very likely to over or underdose it with tranquilizer thus putting it under a lot of stress and very likely killing it OR knocking it out quickly with a large caliber/high velocity rifle?
What is meant by humane? If one wanted to be very humane, then completely leave them alone and try to act like they do not exist(including stop trying to track them down for photos -- probably puts stress on them and changes their normal routines). Since a good number of us want to prove that they exist, I see this as highly unlikely.
