"For all the hunters/woodsmen out there; who would win in a battle between B.F. vs a Grizzly? vs a Cougar? How would B.F. defend himself? Would it be largely intimidation, staring down the opponent? Let's have some fun with this."
I personally don't think they would ever have confrontations except for perhaps brief unexpected encounters where 1 or the other would unintentionally get close to the others cubs/offspring, ect. And then I doubt anything would really happen. Keyword being survival. They are survivors because they all have strong survival instincts and in my opinion those include knowing how to avoid potentially dangerous situations or non beneficial situations.
Consider that many predators such as big cats will back off of or not even initiate a chase when the energy they’d expend is potentially more than they might gain from success. Also consider it's not a matter of winning a fight, it's a matter of remaining in exceptional health. What would be a simple injury to a person or domestic animal is a life threatening handicap to creatures that must survive in the wild. And they have survived because their instincts know such things.
So more likely the question is what's the reason they would fight a fight with no potential winning outcome. They likely know to avoid each other and prefer to simply go the other way if at all possible.
But "if" there were any encounter my guess is that it would be a very brief encounter where there might be slight injuries and they'd likely quickly realize they'd prefer going opposing ways even more so.
As for the tiger bigfoot story, while not very believable, I was considering the larger predators that bigfoot creatures would actually share the north american woods with, cougars, bears. Cougars are obviously much smaller than the bigger cats such as tigers, but still they’re very formidable and dangerous animals, and it’s believed that they can kill animals up to 8 times their size.
But as for the really big cats, which a bigfoot creature would almost certainly never encounter anyhow, even imagining it, I personally think great apes or bigfoot creatures would fear such big cats for good reason. I know that’s likely not the preferred answer for the majority of the bigfoot community that in my opinion prefers to consider these creatures invincible, but a big cat is likely the ultimate modern predator.
Just my opinions.
