...to the same species of cryptid (presumed Octopus) that washed ashore in St. Augustine in 1896...If I'm not mistaken, DNA tests done on some tissue samples kept from that cryptid turned out to be some unknown species of Cepholopod...Although much of this animal had already been destroyed (it washed up after a hurricane or storm I believe), what remained (believed to have been the mantle of the creature) was still 23 feet WIDE...If they were correct in these measurements at the time, that would make an unknown species of Octopi that could possibly reach lengths of 100ft from one outstretched tentacle to the other...Kinda blows Your mind and makes Ya wonder about the Kraken legends and if they were truly just that - Legends...
