I was jogging in February 2000 I think it was and it was on jogging and bike trail that goes from Des Moines up to Polk City. I heard a deer and saw it to my left perhaps 100 feet away and so I stopped and watched the deer. It kept looking over its right shoulder at something and I wondered what it was looking at and I also looked in the direction the deer was looking and that is when I saw it. At first I thought it was human because I saw arms, legs, chest, shoulders and head. It was covered entirely in jet black hair. It saw me and reared back in suprise and then quickly ran off. Take the speed of an Olympic sprinter and multiply that speed by a factor of 2 or 3 and it will give you an idea of the quickness of the thing. It was a hominid and not an ape in my opinion. I accessed the site of Matt Moneymaker and made a full report. A very interesting experience. I would like to have another sighting and have been out in the dark alone on the trail but saw and heard nothing.When one looks for bigfoot one never seems to find bigfoot. It's when you are not looking when they show up. It's like bigfoot finds you and not the other way around. I have had other experiences too when I was a camp counselor at Des Moines YMCA camp in Boone, Iowa.
