although legally establishing ownership might not be possible, doesn't mean the transaction can't occur. Say Grizz captures a live bf and sells it under the table (mind you, it's gotta be a pretty large table) to Paul Allen for 1 billion bucks. As long as the seller gets the $$$ ;>) So, IMVHO one can sell a bf to a prospective buyer. Neither the State, nor the Gov necessarily need to know, so i think it's possible. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this to be a likely scenario, but stranger things have happened. Next thing you know Stephen Speilberg is making a movie called "Homonid Park".
