Defense in the Dark

If you are not going to use a firearm for defense (Leave the guns at home you dont need them) your best bet is a very large and bright spot light.

Do not try to approach Sasquatch. You probably wont have any luck anyway. Let Sasquatch come to you. They are more likely to approach the darker it is. Do not use the spot light unless you feel threatened as once that light is turned on you can forget any further interaction with a Sasquatch.

I can not speak to the effectivness of Bear spray but if you choose to use it, I would advise that you get the biggest canister of UDAP (http://www.udap.com/) that you can get your hands on but let me stress that I have NO IDEA how a Sasquatch will react to bear spray IF you can even get it close enough to spray it.

I am of the opinion that you have more to fear from other wildlife than you do from Sasquatch as they will, in my experience, not get too close and move off if you attempt to get close. So save the bear spray for the other critters that may bother you in the woods.

The rule of thumb is dont be aggressive. Let them come to you. If they act in a way that makes you feel threatened turn on your lights and leave the area.

I say leave the area because if they are aggressive it indicates they dont want you there but also because once you light up the woods there is little chance you will have any further activity. They dont want to be seen and will avoid you once you try to spotlight them.
