There has been only one time back in July 2000 that we've observed any reactional agression towards a cluster of residents and their fireworks along the northern perimeter of our observational area. Mostly in the lower pitched roar-type vocalizations, they seemed pretty annoyed and expressed a "hey you - knock it off!" attitude. We were out wednesday night in the central zone, there were some fireworks along the northern perimeter, but it was eerily quiet out there in the woods. The recent clearcutting and development for housing starts in that area in the past year, have severed some of the connecting greenbelts with gametrails that are used during their foraging rounds. So it just appears to be a coincidental occurance if the BF happen to be foraging in the area when the fireworks are being discharged, thus resulting in their vocal protests. We'll be heading out again tonight for a dusk 'til dawn recon, I will post a brief summary on recent activity in the next few days. Hope all is well with you and yours, take it easy and talk to you all later.
