(Have been away due to Military obligations...)
It is great to be back and I've been trying to get all caught up with what is going on in the world of BF. With recent events, (fires scorching the Mid and Southwest) I have made phone calls to contacts in CO and NM who live near heavily forested areas. I have asked these folks to take an interest in hiking a bit, especially near creeks that are just outside the recent Forest Fire areas to see if there are any signs of BF that may have had to evacuate the area. I feel that it would be a great opportunity to find evidence as all wildlife would be on the move and with their lives at stake, they wouldn't necessarily be concerned with avoiding run-ins with humans. I think their main concern would be trying to survive.
If you too have contacts in areas near the Forest Fire areas..I would encourage you all to do the same. Perhaps there are some of you out there already...
I think that the thousands of acres that were on fire were home to much, much, much wildlife that were displaced and have populated outlying areas. I think it increases the odds for tracks, vocalizations, or even better, an actual sighting. GL and GB
