I can say our Conspiracy is indeed very old, well over a hundred years. The tricky part was to leave all those thousands of prints with depths indicating something closer to a thousand pounds than to a human. What we did was to build a giant walking machine with a flexible foot and we constructed it with different sized feet. We had to spend millions on it because even with todays technology, it was not an easy feat (no pun intended). And it was tricky to fake all the sightings in places where footprints were found also becuase it was and is critical to keep our footprint making machine secret. What if it got into the wrong hands? There was such a huge demand for it that we bought a small fleet of black helicopters so that we could move it all over the country. This stuff doesn't come cheap. And believe you me, it doesn't come cheap paying Shaquile Oniel to run around the woods in that stinky monkey suit but he is a good sport about it. One of my favorite days was when we fooled Dr. Grover Krants because we calculated just how to construct the foot that a giant hominoid would need. What a stroke of genius that was. And with those dermal ridges, we even fooled a primate fingerprint expert. Yes sir. We conspirator did a pretty good job. Just kidding
