Bronx Cheer or What?

Does Sasquatch tease people? I made camp beside a small pond west of Acker Lake in Indian Heaven WA last Saturday night 21st, picked a cup of huckleberries for breakfast, then laid back in the door of the tent for a breather. Immediately came a loud QUACK-QUAAAACK from the west end of the pond. Only no ducks were to be seen. After a few moments it came again, the same way, sort of a derisive sounding quack and good-bye, I thought. Much too loud and forceful for a mallard, more like a huge quacking goose, which I never heard of. Time was only half hour after sunset, so I saw see the whole pond clearly through my night vision scope, which is a nice bright G3. There were no birds on that water.

I had made considerable heavy noise, throwing down big rocks to make a fire ring in the damp grass at water's edge, then breaking off dead limbs back in the woods. I had thumped and scurried and bustled for an hour or more. I was nearly ready to set the thermal imager on its tripod for an all-night vigil, when I got quacked twice. I never knew that a quack could sound so scornful! What have you found, does Sasquatch poke fun at us puny intruders? Appreciate any wisdom or experience from y’all.
