that has decided to put you on it's menu can be very tricky, but you can almost always make a cougar decide on a less threatening meal just by yelling, stamping your feet, throwing things at it and making yourself look as big as possible. Cougars are pretty timid critters, comparatively speaking. You just don't EVER want to let one get behind you when you're in heavy brush or tall grass.
