I wonder about that too. I never took my imager up in the snow. Maybe it will happen this weekend, the weather here looks ugly enough.
Decomposing remains might be warm enough to shine through snow, or maybe not. Interesting idea. One should probably have a helicopter-mounted FLIR to research this aspect efficiently.
The imager in Cadillacs might work in the snow too, especially at night. I am hoping for more reports from you Cadillac drivers.
Police cars and border patrol use a roof-mounted thermal imager for surveillance. Has a little wiper blade and you see through a grayscale monitor on the dashboard. Should work excellent in snow. Occasionally one gets "surplused" and shows up for auction on Ebay. Dandy little item for researchers as well as roadhunters, I would suppose. Good luck with this and take it easy!
