if not the best, documentaries I've seen. It was great to see a show that was totally about what evidence there IS, instead of what evidence there isn't, and to not have a bunch of uninformed scientific goons saying "show me a body," "show me the DNA evidence" (which there already IS).
Hard to tell about the Memorial Day footage though, isn't it? All I can figure, with the subject being that short and that slow (compared to the college sprinter) is that maybe it was a young one, which might also explain it's carelessness in crossing that hill with people in plain view. And toward the end, when it appears to get taller...maybe that's just the left arm raising up overhead? I can't remember whether or not both arms could be seen swinging at that point. Seems like they were though, I remember pointing out to my son how long the arms looked and how exaggerated the arm swing seemed. OK, I'm rambling now....
And, not to be critical, because that's not how I want this to sound, but....my eyebrows kind of raised a bit when I realized that they were using 3 confirmed believers (Meldrum, Chilcutt and Fahrenbach, which I probably just spelled wrong) to come up with positive results. Not that their results are to be doubted in any way, but it would have had a more dramatic impact to have people with neutral opinions come up with the same conclusions. I know Chilcutt started out as a skeptic, but they didn't point that out, nor did they point out the fact that he came to his conclusions long ago and that his current opinion wasn't some kind of major revelation that they unveiled on the show. It all had sort of the same effect as if they'd used die-hard skeptics to come up with negative results...sort of, "Well, duh."
In any case, overall I thought it was an excellent program, VERY interesting. It's on again at 3:00 EST today (Saturday), and if I can figure out how to get cable channels higher than 13 through the VCR (very technologically retarded here), I plan to tape it because it's a keeper!
