every deer that i've shot [more than 10] has dropped in its tracks. i use a .243 with 100 grain bullets, but then with a smaller round like this, all of the shock is transferred to the target, rather than blowing clear through it as a larger round would. a 30/06 or similar round is capable of dropping an elk or grizzly and if this hit a 'squatch, it should drop it too. my opinion is that the alleged shootings hit a tree as they aimed at a running target in heavy cover.
