This is my first post here since one welcoming George back a couple of weeks ago. None of the others above or below are mine. I have too much respect for Rick Noll to dismiss out of hand anything he is working on.
If one checks the ISP numbers, it appears that a majority of the false posts are originated by Beckjord. He is a cancer, and it appears to be his goal to destroy every message board which serves as a genuine conduit for exchanging views and information.
David, I speak no Amerind languages, though I have a great respect for many aspects of Amerind culture. I am afraid you do have me confused with someone else. We did exchange some thoughts on speciation and DNA a few months ago. Did I not read somewhere that you had made a recent trip to Tennessee? Have you described in detail what you observed? If not, I would be interested in knowing whether you had any actual observations of the animals.
I have not read the book. I have made no secret of the fact that I am skeptical about some of the details attributed to the book and stated by Jan and Mary in message board posts, and I think that rationality requires such skepticism. I do not dismiss the possibility that some of these animals may be resident in that location, however.
Jan, I don't get a lot of pleasure from participating in flame wars. I usually post only when I think I have something worthwhile to contribute. My silence largely relates to the fact that flaming currently occupies a large portion of the available space on most of the boards, and most of the people with worthwhile information seem to have decided that it's not worth the candle to post in that environment. Thanks for the "your friend" though!
