I started calling the IF patient advocacy groups, and they seemed very helpful in referrals for lawyers. We tenatively have a law firm, who is going to look at things under tort law, outside of misdiagnosis, that will apply. I am over the moon, bc this has been a frustrating battle. Basically in our state, the day the doctor recommended treatment with a scarred uterus that could not maintain the pregnancy, then it was a case of misdiagnosis and not compensible in our state.
So I am so relieved, I never thought the search for a lawyer would be this exhausting, however we lost our ability to make choices to build a family. The law firm wants all documents and contracts sent to them. They advise against filing a letter to the board of medicine, as that would shut down all communication, to start with, as we are going to be asking for all monies to be returned.
There are many legal issues and we desparately needed advice.
