we ended up giving them to Grace and Will who...one needed a bigger one and two...I didn't want to put up baby's first Christmas again. I WAS going to make new ones to go with the other family stockings but I found these at a card shop and they are the same size as ours..and one says..BELIEVE IN MIRACLES....and the other just says BELIEVE.
I wanted to buy two more for the babies but Dh said..number one let's not jinx things...and two...he didn't want to get into IT on Christmas EVE with the kids.
When he had taken the kids up skiing on Boxing day I made a cup of tea for my oldest DD..20 and we had a little visit before she left to spend the day with her boyfriend....she was great.
She said she was happy for me and glad that I was living my dream. She said she was sad though that since she is away at University she won't get to know these babies hardly at all...she feels in that sense it is sad...but I told her that we can be as close as we want to be...with skype etc...and I also told her that as long as I'm living and am her mom she always has a place to call home...I even tried to convinced her to finish her education at our local University..after she gets her BA in English/History...and goes on to get her B.ED but she said...her heart tells her she needs to keep flying...even though she would love to come home and rejoin in our family's day to day life.
So one down and 4 more big kids to go...I know little Grace will be thrilled and so will HARRISon who is 11...whoops just turned 12...but there are those teenagers...our 14...almost 15 year old...and 18 year old to contend with. IF YOU could have seen how they played with their little brother tonight before he went for his bath tonight...you would think they would be 'STOKED' to have another two to throw in the air, wrestle with, hug etc.
Little Will...got a play tent, Castle for Christmas....this is a big little castle that my 8 year old can stand in...anyway it has a drawbridge etc...so we pulled out his knight costume from Halloween and he has been knighted Sir William by his older brothers...they have pulled out their wooden swords they had as children and they have been practising their swordmanship with him ever since....they just love their little brother...and so I hope they will feel...or at least remember how they felt before he was born....not too happy and draw from that experience....anyway...Dh THINKS we should take the boys out to have a fast food lunch which they love...their teenagers who can eat 2 burgers at a sitting and share the story with them...and then take the little kids..well grace and Harrison out as well and tell them.
So whoever gave me the idea to tell the kids separately..thankyou....I think this is going to be best for sharing the new.
By the way...I had my last appt with Dr. just before Christmas..15 weeks and 1 day but who was counting...I'm almost 16 now and I got to hear those lovely little heart beats on the doppler.
My u/s isn't until the 27 th of Janurary...anatomical u/s and checking on the twins overall growth etc...but gee I'll be 20 wks.
I'm really waffling about finding out the gender...a part of me just wants a big surprise. Did any of you wait until birth day to find out the gender of your babies?..and if so what did you do to prepare..buy alot of white outfits and blankets...boy if I can wait another 5 months to find out what we are having....talk about delayed gratification and patience...we'll see.
Are you going to find out Kelly?..WHAT about you MOOI?
wELL that is my big update on the telling....and how this pgcy is going...wish I could post a picture as i WOULD love to send a picture of Sir William in his tent and whole outfit next to the tree...so cute..what a ham when the camera comes out too....I'll have to see if my computer literate DD can figure photo bucket out before she returns to school.
Anyway...all the best to everyone as the year comes to a close...it was a good year...we are so blessed to have this board as a place to share and build friendships.
Blessings from Hope
