Disney's money making schemes

by

I just recently got back from Disney and was appalled by many of the money making schemes Disney has. Let me give you an example of just two of them.

First, I was at Animal Kingdom, and went into one of the souvenir shops. I saw an item called, "Bucket of Gummy Soldiers." Basically, the idea was that it was the same soldiers from Toy Story, but as Gummy treats. The bucket is sealed, so you cannot open it. I thought it was a cool little thing, and enjoying gummy bears, I decided to purchase it ($4). Well, imagine my surprise when I opened the bucket and found a tiny little package, containing about 12 gummy soldiers, with the rest of the bucket being filled up with confetti. This was an absolute outrage, and Disney should be ashamed of itself for selling this.

The second exmaple was when I was going to see Fantasmic at MGM. We were waiting in line, and it was a bit of a cold night, so I decided to get three hot chocolates for the group of us. Well, the place I went to had these souvenir style cups that lit up. I wasn't interseted, and just wanted a hot chocolate to warm me up. Well, imagine my surprise when I was told that the only way I could get hot chocolate was in that cup, making the total, per hot chocolate, $11.

This is an outrage. There's no reason a consumer should be forced to pay this much for a simple hot chocolate.
