There is nothing like the Magic Kingdom all decorated to get you in the holiday season. I went with my family 12 years in a row and now am going back (after 6 yrs without) with my husband this year.

That's nice to hear.
Please tell me what dates in December and when exactly do the crowds begin? I am going on a 3 night trip Sept. 28- Oct.1 and staying at All-Star Music. I've never been at Christmas Time so since I bought a seasonal pass this year, I also made reservations for Dec. 9-10 at Dixie Landings ( first time at a moderate).I tried to get in on the 8th but no go. Thank you.

and what I have been told by others, it's normally pretty good until the 19th or 20th. We used to arrive around the 16th or 17th and leave the day after Christmas. We would do all the big name attractions the first couple of days and then when it got crowded we would be able to relax and take it easy.

We are arriving on Good Friday and will be there until the 20th. I know, I know, it will be packed but we had no choice (school kids). I hear the weather is nice in April. Anyone ever visited during this time?

We have gone several times to Disney at Easter because of the same reason...kids and ourselves are out of school. We work for the school system. It is crowded but we still have had wonderful times each time we have been there. The weather is really warm and we always come home with a tan. I hope this helps.

We stayed at CBR in '97 and '98. We will also be going around Halloween and staying here again. My husband doesn't even want to try another resort because he loves staying at the CBR.

Try Mears Transportation they are located in the baggage claim area of Orlando International. You do not need a reservation going from the airport to Disney but you will need to make a return reservation, this can be done upon arrival. The cost is around $25 per adult and $17 for the child roundtrip. Keep in mind that this is a shuttle and will make frequent stops at different hotels. There us also Tiffany Towncar which is around $80 round trip total for a private town car. They have a web site www.tiffanytowncar.com. I used both services before and they are both great. Any questions just ask!!

Thanks for your response. I can't decide which will be better for us, but wanted to hear from someone who has used both. There is about a $20.00 difference with TTC being high, but is it worth it. Thanks again.

There is another company that I've heard great things about - we will be using them in December. It's called IBEX - www.ibextowncar.com. They charge either $75.00 or $80.00 r/t depending on your WDW resort destination. There is a $5.00 discount coupon on their website. They will also include a 30 minute supermarket stop in your trip from the airport to your resort.
Although it will be slightly more than round trip on Mears, I think the personal attention is worth it.

Just click on the happy limo ad on the top of this page and checkout their rates, I have used them several times and you are not going to find a company which has cheap rates like happy and an untarnished reputation. Btw u get 30 minutes free grocery stop, and when the tips and tolls are added to the fare you will still come out ahead with happy limo plus no embarassing coupons need to be shown to their drivers upon arrival.
Hope this helps :)

I am a 26yr old Canadian woman. I've been to Disney about 20 times. Every time I tell people I'm going to Disney........I always get the same reply, "AGAIN"?????????? Are there any other Disney fanatics out there? If so, do you ever have people in your lives trying to discourage you from going back for more of the magic? What do you do about it?

No one (at least not many) understand the addiction that is Disney, but I too am stricken with it! I've seen it all and done it all, but still need to be back and do it again and again!
I've finally resolved myself to just telling people that we're Disneyfreaks. I can't say that anyone discourages us from going, but we get strange looks alllllll the time! I've just reached a point where I ignore it and the people who know me just accept it.
When asked why - I have said because you can do everything there - fabulous resorts, food, nostalgia, waterparks, entertainment, clubs and you don't have to drive anywhere! That is my normal response, but alas people still don't get it!
So please rest assured that you are NOT alone! We are out there going about our daily lives - all the while wishing we were at Disney!
I have been - getting close to 30 times so far and realized not too long ago that once our AP's expire next May - we will have used 28 days on them! Most weekends, but yeah - you could said my husband and I have a problem! At least its a good problem to have!

I have been there about 21 times now and I tell people every year that I'm going and they always say "you were just there last year" .My only two responses are just.....1. I like to see how the place works behind the scences ( this ia a wonder all unto itself) and 2. I tell them anyone that thinks going once every few years is enough is crazy since the place changes so much and its an experience that can be relived over and over again.....

I'm 25yrs old and I get the same thing. I go down Disney every year for 2wks and I can't get enough, as soon as I get back I can't wait to go again. I'll watch my home videos of Disney to pass the time until I get there. The one thing that I have discovered is the people that keep on telling us to go some place different have either never even been to WDW or have not one bone of fun and excitement in their body. I love going down there and acting like a kid who wants to be a old fudy dudy anyways!!!

I feel like such a rookie....we'll be going for the 5th time this December. But hey, we're late bloomers. We didn't start going until we turned 38. Now, 8 years later, we enjoy making each visit a different experience (different resort, different family members tagging along, etc.). We celebrated our 25th anniversary at WDW (during it's 25th) and for sure will do the same for our 30th. But we get the same reaction from friends..."Don't you ever think about going anywhere else?" I usually respond with, "ya, I think we'll do the Disney cruise" or "maybe we should try Disneyland this time". We just keep trying to recruit them to join us for one of our new Disney experiences. I feel sorry for them...they don't know what they're missing.

My husband and I hardly qualify for social security, but we absolutely LOVE WDW! I buy all the videos (my fav is Beauty and the Beast) and have many of the compilation music CDs that I play in the car on long trips. We are spending 2 weeks at WDW between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year - our first visit during the holidays and our first time staying in one of their resorts. When we tell everyone we are going back 6 months later with our oldest 2 granddaughters, both will be 8 years old, (it's a surprise visit for them so don't tell them where they are going!!), people think we are nuts because we are going again so soon. Hey, we are the ones saving up for it, so we can go where ever we want, right? And why not go to the Happiest Place on Earth??? And why not share that happiness with the people we love so much. As a matter of fact, we plan on taking each of our 6 grandchildren (2 at a time) to WDW when they reach the age of 8 - which means we get to go approx every 2 years!!! We just heard that our son and his wife may be expecting! You know what that means!! DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason for the original post was to tell you why I love WDW so much! Sorry I got off track... When we tell people that we are going to WDW for vacation, they often ask "Why are you driving all the way to Florida when you live so close to Kings Dominion or Busch Gardens or Six Flags?" (we live in Virginia...). Besides the fact that my mom lives in Florida, I always tell them it is because at WDW I can ride all the rides! Well, not all. I don't do roller coasters - or the Tea Cups - I get too sick.. (I do love Thunder Mountain, however). At WDW there are all sorts of things for me to do, see, go on. Many of the other theme parks have built their reputations on having the biggest, fastest, highest roller coasters and they have let their shows go by the wayside. So there are very few things for me to do there. Why spend $40 or more to go into a park where there is nothing for me to do? I get tired of standing around waiting for everyone else to ride the scary rides. At WDW they have wonderful shows, rides that everyone can ride on, and lots of things to see and do! And the characters are nice to everyone! Not just the children! I love getting hugs from Beast or Mickey or the other characters. Heck, the parks themselves are just plain beautiful! You could just go in and walk around looking at everything and still get your money's worth! So as long as WDW remembers people like me, people who can't or won't do those "thrill" rides, I will continue to make that trip to Florida! And to anyone interested, yes, we will be spending time with Mom, as well. We will visit with her on our way down to WDW and on our way back home. We've taken her to WDW before, and she isn't interested in going with us this time - we've asked. But she can't wait to hear about it and to see our photos. I can't wait to get down there!!!!!!!!

We were there last year in the beginning of October and it was very humid and muggy, with some rain. My sister went down the day we left for a week and had horrible weather, rained almost every day. I think it's usually a nice time to visit, with temps in the 80's. Have fun!

have been going to disney for last 5 years- end of Oct to beginning of Nov--usually warm in 80's and can go swimming almost everyday. One year a storm came in and knocked out all of the power on a Friday night and it was really cool for the first week- jeans and sweatshirt weather then the next week hot -swam everyday

Is there a direct bus to the Boardwalk or should we take the bus to Epcot and then is it close enough to walk to the BW from where the bus lets us off? I was also wondering just how far it is to walk around those resorts right near Epcot, Beach/Yacht, BW, Swan, Dolphin. Is it conceiveable to walk from the CBR to these? Thanks! only 41 days left and trying to figure out the transportation.
Posted on Sep 19, 2000, 10:47 AM from IP address 152.163.204.9
You can walk from epcot to the boardwalk but you have to walk all they way through epcot. The boardwalk, yatchbeach, and swan dolphin are all very close to epcot and you can walk to them no problem from it. The carribean is way to far to walk. We normally walk the whole boardwalk everynight when we are there. It is not a very long walk. Your best bet would probly be to go to mgm and take the boat to the boardwalk instead of going through epcot.

Please list some really fun places to go at Disney World that I can give my mom and dad. We will be there for 2 weeks. Are there any good places outside of parks? I am 6 and a 1/2.
Posted on Sep 19, 2000, 9:55 AM from IP address 192.232.120.194
Ok I haven't been 6 for a long time BUT I have gone to that park 21 times so I might give you some good ideas.... First hit all of fanasy land .....Word to mom and dad be prepared to wait in lines ....Try hitting these rides right away in the morning. ( most rides to hit in the morning are the thrill rides but since you are possibly to small (Height requirments)for those then hit the fantasyland rides)****Hit small world last since the line moves pretty well .... Next look to adventureland and go on the jungle cruise (lines can get bad latter on in the day. Now in any order hit the rest of these the haunted mansion (LS) ( its not scary so don't worry it just alot of neat looking special effects). Also look to country bear jamborie (FL)****clapping and yelling help with the fun you'll see. Try the pirates of the carribearn (AL).****this has one small but entertaining drop in it.Also hit the tiki room its a hoot....Ok now (AL)=adventure land (FL)=Frontierland (LS)= libertysquare . ****= special notes. That was all the Magic Kingdom If it helps I'll tell you more about the other parks .....OH I forgot hit tomswayers Island and head to the fort there....And see if Alien encounters will work with its height restricions for you (tommorrowland) I haven't seen it but I hear that buzz light years ride in tommorrowland is cool to.....Any Questions e-mail me at mondo1748@aol.com (I check it more )

I would appreciate some advice on the type of clothing I should pack in regard to the weather. Would a fall jacket be needed? Will shorts be acceptable? etc. Thanks, anyone.

Hi, Kathy! We were there almost this time last year, we left on the 23rd. We didn't need jackets, sweatshirts or jeans, the whole time we were there. Shorts and t-shirts every day. It was hot, muggy and humid. Have fun!
Posted on Sep 18, 2000, 2:23 PM from IP address 209.255.214.16
I just got home from WDW. I was there 10-20 September and the average temperature was 86-90 degrees, with high humidity, especially after all the rain on Saturday and Sunday. I took jeans, but never wore them. I lived in shorts and tee shirts, and for a couple of days, a poncho.
I suggest packing shorts, but also 1 or 2 pairs of jeans or long pants and a light jacket, just in case the weather cools down.
FYI - I have also been to WDW in late September, October and early November, and except for an occasional cool evening, I lived in shorts.
Hope this helps. Have fun.

We aren't scheduled to go there until next May 2001. We're lucky that without having kids we've been able to sneak down for some quick Disney Trips in between! We're also going for a weekend in February to get the chill off our bones!

Its in MGM - PS is recommended. I haven't eaten there personally, but have heard the food is somewhat mediocre. Of course each experience is different and all relative.
If anything stop in for a dessert and see if you like it enough to eat there.

We ate here about 5 years ago. It was so much fun! The food is pretty good, but what you're really going to enjoy is the atmosphere. If you go to www.wdwig.com they have a menu section so you could look at the selection of food. I think we just got nachos and maybe salads and milk shakes. It was a neat place and I would recommend going maybe for lunch but not dinner. Call first to get a PS. HAve fun!

WE HAVE EATEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES. THE FOOD IS JUST OK AND EXPENSIVE- YOUR BEST BET IS TO GO FOR AN AFTERNOON SNACK- THEY HAVE GREAT MILKSHAKES. THE ATMOSPHERE IS GREAT- MY KIDS AGED 19,20 AND 21 AT THE TIME -LOVED IT.ASK FOR A FRONT SEAT IN THE CAR IF THERE IS ONLY TWO OF YOU OR IF MORE THE WHOLE CAR BECAUSE THEY WILL SIT YOU AT A TABLE-- AND THE WHOLE IDEA IS THAT YOU ARE SITTING IN A DRIVE IN MOVIE. IT'S ALOT OF FUN.

My husband and I are also going in December (13th-20th), though it is not his first time at Disney, he has not been there in ten years and only went for a couple of days the one time he did go. We are both in our mid-twenties and i think that the most important thing is planning. Get some books and search the net together to find things that you both want to do down there. Remember to relax. I went to Disney 12 years in a row during December with my family (haven't been there in almost 6 years) and it is very easy to go 24/7 while your down there, force yourselves to relax even if its just for an hour by the pool at your hotel. Have you considered going to the Very Merry Mickey Xmas party? I've never been there, but have heard it's festive and fun. Where are you staying?

Hi,
Check out this book at the link below. It's called "Birnbaum's Walt Disney World Without Kids 2000 : The Official Guide for Fun-Loving Adults (Birnbaums Walth Disney World Without Kids, 2000)"
My family and I stayed at the Plaza Hotel while I was attending a conference. We stayed in a
tower room. It was great!!!! Very large!!!
Bathroom had a great big bathtub and a
separate shower that was big enough for two
people. The restroom was very large. I
will stay there again in the future. Have fun.

Hi, we are planning a trip to WDW in Dec 2000 for 4 weeks. While reading the notice boards we have noticed that there is a Seasonal Pass available. Is this for Florida residents only? Also what benefits do you get? Any other info on this would be much appreicated. Would we be better off buying a Annual Pass? We are not staying on Disney property.

This is my family's first trip to WDW. I have no idea how much spending money we will need for food and shopping everything else is paid for. It will be 2 adults and 3 kids 7,10,11 for 7 days.
Can anyone give me an idea?
Posted on Sep 17, 2000, 5:51 PM from IP address 209.176.252.95
Kim, we usually budget $100 a day for four of us. We ate breakfast most mornings in our room, lunch at either the food court at ASMo (which was pretty good and very reasonable) or counter type places in the parks. We ate one character dinner at Chef Mickey's. I also brought snacks down with us that each person would select what they wanted for the day and pack in their backpacks or fanny bags. My kids are older, that trip they were 16 & 18, and had their own spending money that they used for souvenirs or snacks. Are you going after Christmas? If so, when relatives ask what to get them, tell them Disney Dollars! They will have their own "money" for things that you may not think is necessary, souvenirs or snacks. When their money runs out, they're done buying! Most food at the food court cost us about $30, the same for the counter type restaurants in the parks. Good luck and have fun!

Listen to the last message it gives some good info
by
Dopey sharon Gives a good estimate....As long as you got tickets and all here are a few hint and tips....Disney is expensive there is no doubt. Get a magic kingdom club card through AAA or some other source and you can save money on gifts and souv. at the disney store downtown at disneyworld. This Store has everything the parks have ( the common stuff ) so if you like something at the parks try that store in downtown disney it could save you with the card 10%. Next Disney is an easy place to drop money on food if you eat at the hotels eat at cheap hotels . They price there food to the crowd ...I've found a burger at the wilderness lodge is more money then one at the allstar resort, so keep that in mind. Last don't get carried away with pricey gifts that you could get at the local disney store for cheaper.....Hint if you get mouse ears get them at the fantasyland store . They put your name in it for free ....no other place does it ....

I'm heading to CBR this coming weekend. What would you list as pros and cons? What 'village' did you stay in? Which would you recommend? Also, did you rent bikes at the marina? I'm curious to know if any of them had an infant seat...I'll have a 2 year old in tow who likes to ride. Thanks!

HI I STAYED IN TRINADAD NORTH. IT WAS VERY NICE CLOSE TO THE SECOND POOL A LITTLE BIT OF A WALK TO THE FOOD COURT AND MAIN POOL BUT NOT MUCH IT WAS A VERY NICE WALK. I DONT KNOW THE NAME OF THE BUILDING RIGHT NEXT TO THE MAIN POOL AND FOODCOURT SORRY. I LOVED THIS HOTEL YES WE RENTED THE BIKE AND MY 3 YEAR OLD SAT UP FRONT AND RANG THE BELL SHE LOVED IT! PLUS LAID IN HAMMOCKS NEAR WATER HAS A GREAT PARK FOR YOUR LITTLE ONE. MY DAUGHTER LOVED WATCHING THE DUCKS IN THE WATER AND WE EVEN SAW A BUNNY!!! HOWEVER ONE NEGATIVE THING ABOUT CBR I FELT THE BUS SYSTEM WAS NOT GOOD. THIS WAS OUR FIRST VISIT AT THIS HOTEL AND I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TRANSPORT PROBLEMS AT ANY OTHER HOTEL. SO THIS TRIP WE ENDED UP USING OUR CAR AND IT WAS MUCH BETTER.

i 've doing my research and thought that trinidad north and martinique were close to the fodd courts, pool and bus system. what problems are you referring to? will be there on 9/25 and want to check on my room request before we leave. any info on cbr would be appreated
thanks!

When you check in ask if there is a room available in Martinique. That is the best place to stay. You are usually the 1st pick up and 1st drop off with the bus system, it is also very close to Old Port Royale A.K.A The FOOD Court!! If Martinique is not available ask for Calypso, That also is very close. Calypso is a very small area of the hotel so I am not even sure if they still are calling it that..But definately ask for Martinique!! Have a great time...!!!

We have made reservations at the CBR for November. We have read that it is possible to request a specific room/location if you phone the resort the day before arrival. Can you recommend one of the "islands", one that you found was the most convenient?? Also if you can offer any info you think we could benefit from.
Greatly appreciated
Thanks

THE HOTEL IS VERY NICE IT HAS A FEW HAMMOCKS, NEAR THE WATER A PARK FOR THE KIDS THE MAIN POOL HAS A WATER SLIDE, WATER FALL, KIDDIE POOL. IT WAS GREAT ALL EXCEPT FOR THE BUS SYSTEM THERE MANY OF THE GUESTS THAT I SPOKE TO WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. THERE HAVE THESE GREAT BIKES TO RENT AND ALSO SOME BOATS. HAS ONE SIT DOWN RESTAURANT IT IS AVERAGE I SAY. SO IS THE FOOD COURT. THE ROOMS ARE A VERY NICE SIZE CONSIDERING THE OTHER DISNEY HOTEL ROOM. IF YOU CAN TRY TO REQUEST A ROOM CLOSER TO THE OLD PORT ROYAL WHICH IS WHERE THE POOL AND FOOD COURT ARE. SORRY I DONT KNOW THE NAME OF THE BUILDING. HAVE FUN!!!

I stayed there with my family the first couple of years that the CBR opened. The most convient location in my opinion is Martinique 2600 or 2500. It is close to Old Port Royale (food court) which has a bus stop located there. Also the main pool and Parrot Cay Island are close. I have heard that the buildings in Jamaica and Aruba right across the bridge that connects to Parrot Cay Island and Old Port Royale are also convient but I do not know there #'s. Trinindad South and Barbados are the furthest from everything, I think. Hope that helps and that all the info is correct. Its been a couple of years.
