My 13 year old son who is currently 5'6"-120 pounds wants to wrestle when he enters high school in the fall of 2005. He has grappling experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has done very well in that sport winning two gold medals in two tournaments.

How can I prepapre him for freestyle wrestling? It's very diffrent from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I am thinking of sending him to two or three wrestling clinics this summer to get the basics down and then have him wrestle with a local wrestling club and with the high school wrestling team. I also plan to send him to at least two intensive wrestling camps in the summer of 2005 before he gets to high school.

I would apprecaite any advice on training and wrestling camps/clinics that are worth the time and money.

See if a local high school has an open gym(this is for off-season where wrestlers just come and practice and train)and talk with a coach.I am sure that someone will be more than happy to teach him the basics and how to train. All wrestlers and coaches love helping out kids new to the sport
