I'm trying to lose about 10-12 pounds before the season starts in november. I currently weigh around 160-162 on a daily basis. I was wondering what kind of training program i should follow to lose this weight. I plan on getting down to around 150 for the start of the season and wrestle 145. any info would help.

thanx

Pat,

10-12lbs should be pretty easy if you just control your eating habits and start doing your preseason workouts.

right now your 6 weeks away from the start of the season. Thats only 2lbs a week which is a very safe goal to have for weight loss.

Try and cut out your soda's and junk food for starters. Eat more chicken and salads, but most of all its going to come down to the little extra things you do in your workouts.

For your workouts, I would look at doing some of the barbell or dumbbell complexs that we have lined out using coach javorek has created. You can view the programs online via his website at http://istvanjavorek.com/book/book_video.htm

Start basic and slowly increase the reps and sets and decrease the rest time. This is a great total body program for wrestlers.

Thanx for the info. I've already lost about 7-10 since the middle of august from just cutting out soda and junk foods. I think it shouldn't be to hard.
