First of all, hey mike, you might know me from the BB.com forums (the sports training section). Just finished reading up on most of the articles, and other stuff on the site. (Good work by the way).
I have quite a bit of problems, and I'd like some help (be it from other forum members, or Mike, I just need help!)
Issue # 1:
Last year during wrestling season I fractured my scaphoid (it still hasn't healed completely (non-union) but I am still able to wrestle).
2 weeks ago, I broke my thumb (or rather, one of the freshman did - but I won't get into that). My orthopedist said 3-4 weeks (this was 1 week after I had broken my thumb), so for the next 3 weeks or so, should I see any major strength loss? If so, what can I do now, or later to maintain/gain it back?
( I posted this in the Sports Training section at the bb.com forums and didn't get much of a response from anyone).
Issue # 2:
As of now I weigh 148lbs, I wan't to wrestle 140's (I'd like to maintain myself at 139, or 138lbs). Only about 1 month away from season and if I have to wrestle 145's for 1 or 2 weeks I'll do it aslong as I get to my goal of 140. I need a nutritional and exercise plan to help me out.
Issue # 3:
I am EXTREMELY into wrestling, and it is one of the most important thing to me right now (school, family, wrestling). I am probably the most dedicated guy on the team and to be injured now sucks. More than ever, I have lacked motivation to go the gym (I can still do core/legs), I have been going 1 time per week (I know it is bad, but ever sinse my injury, and my inabilty to wrestle I have been depressed and lacking motivation). Prior to my injury, I would lift 3-4 times a week, and do exercise 5-6 times a week. How can I get back into the swing of things, and become motivated again?
I know this is a lot, but it would mean A LOT (seriously) to me if someone helped me. I've done days of research and I still feel lost. Wrestling (like I said) is extremely important to me and it would be greatly appreciated if someone helped me.
In addition to that, if anyone would like to talk wrestling, or would like to discuss this with me via faster communication, my screen name is Denion Jr (on AOL IM).
