Run The Old Dog Alone First .....

by

In regards to your question ....

I would certainly agree with your idea of getting a young dog to run with that older one that you are getting. However, I would also recommend that you run the old dog by itself for a bit first ... get to know his tendencies ... the way he hunts .... BEFORE you run a pup with him. Get to know his abilities ... get him use to working /hunting with you. Then you are able to tell if there are any "Changes" in how the old dog hunts/behaves when hunted with another dog (sometimes there are dramatic differences in how they will hunt) ... also if their are bad tendencies that you probably dont want to pass along to a new pup.

Good Luck .......Steve
