The walker pups were whelped on April 22, 2005 (They will be 8 weeks old on June 17, 2005). They come from a litter of 10 pups. All Females. There are 7 left to choose from. They are all excellant looking pups, very alert, very active, very personable. These pups are pure bred, however they do not have papers as the sire (father) was never registered. The sire is a nice saddle back, 5 1/2 years old and is an excellant coon hound. He is owned by a fellow coon hunter not too far away from me. The dam (mother) is a 7 1/2 year old registered walker that I purchased 2 years ago. She is also a saddle back, and a nice looking dog. She will will track & tree coon all night. She has a semi-hot nose, very open ball on track, and hammers the tree hard with a nice chop. She has an Excellant pedigree which I can show you if you come to look at the pups ... 10 out of 14 dogs in her 7 tier pedigree are Grand Night Champions. Excellant Breeding. I have worked with these pups since they were born, they come well (for their age) when they are called ... they have also been worked with coon tails and a scented drag dummie.
I had my female bred for only one reason, and that was to get a couple of young dogs that I could raise & train myself, to assure myself another 10 years or so of hunting. I figured that there was no better time than now, since I have a good female to run these pups with. By the time they are "stand alone" dogs themselves, the female will be slowing down. Good Timing - I Think.
As you can probably tell, I do not run field trials or night hunts. I am simply a "Coon Hunter" that enjoys the sounds and the thrills of coon hunting, and want to stay hunting for as long as I can, as I am 50 now ... I'm not sure how long that will be ... but I hope for at least another 10 years or so. (I Hope)
Like I said ... these pups have great potential to become "Top-Notch" coon hounds if given the chance, and handled properly. I am asking $100.00 each or $150.oo for two (2). (Cash only please)
You are welcome to come and take a look at them if you like. Give me a call if interested.
