A Serious Female Writer

by Laura Carr

Ruth Hall was a very serious writer, who took her writings seriously. Her articles and stories were read by the common person, because she conveyed a commonality that reached each person reading them. Her works appealed to these people, and many people felt a need to respond to her by writing a letter or verbally talking to another person (spread by word of mouth). When a large population of the country started reading her works and talking about her as an author, this drew attention and the literary critics had to respond. Her topic were real problems or concerns that were happening in that society. This type of reaction was like a coming-out for a female author. She was taken seriously in a very positive way.
Each reader develops an overall personal like or dislike for an authors' style.
